Sports Therapy Association Podcast
Health & Fitness
In Ep.132 of the Sports Therapy Association Podcast, we bring you Part 1 of this month’s ‘Focus on The Hip’, with special guest Holly Soper-Doyle talking to us about Hip Dysplasia, a condition defined by the socket of the hip joint being too shallow.
Hip Dysplasia, more prevalent in women (8:2) than men, is known to be a common cause of developing early onset osteoarthritis. If left undiagnosed and/or untreated the joint can degenerate so much that it results in bone on bone contact and therefore requires a hip replacement.
Holly Soper-Doyle is Specialist musculoskeletal Physiotherapist at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and owner of Integrum Physiotherapy in North London. Her passion is highlighting the gap that exists in diagnosis of hip dysplasis, as well as evidence informed resources for rehabilitation, both conservative management and pre & post-operatively.

Our sincere thanks to Holly Soper-Doyle for giving up her time to be a guest on the show, especially given the minimal sleep she is experiencing due to the joys of having a 9 month old son!
