You have caveman brains. Don't worry, we all do. It's part of our brain's make up that formed back when not fitting in meant certain death. But now we live in an advanced age with modern luxuries and that same part of our brain causes us an endless amount of suffering. So join my expert and I as we explore how we can turn it off.
My guest today is Dr. Betsy Holmberg ( betsyholmberg.com ). Our good doctor has worked on psychology at Duke and published research at Harvard, so you know she's very good at what she does. And what she does best is prove to people that the automatic thoughts and response that you have you have going on in your head every day of your life are not only provably false, but actively harming you. And this isn't about thinking you're always awesome or perfectly performing tasks. Your brain on it's best behavior doesn't do that unless you're a psychopath or a narcissist.
Honestly, by the end of the episode you're going to listen to me experience an epiphany in real time. And it's probably the same one you're going to have after hearing it because it's too simple to not engage with!
