Bigger Isn’t Always Better

How we see Better-

“When they arrived, Samuel saw Jesse's son Eliab and said to himself, “This man standing here in the Lord's presence is surely the one he has chosen.” 1 Samuel‬ ‭16‬:‭6‬ ‭GNT‬‬

How God sees Better-

“But the Lord said to him, “Pay no attention to how tall and handsome he is. I have rejected him, because I do not judge as people judge. They look at the outward appearance, but I look at the heart.” ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭16‬:‭7‬ ‭GNT‬‬

Bigger isn’t better when-

You can’t handle bigger.

‭”I am the true vine; my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that does not produce fruit. And he trims and cleans every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce even more fruit.” John‬ ‭15‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NCV‬

You aren’t faithful with smaller. 

“Whoever is faithful with little is also faithful with much, and the one who is dishonest with little is also dishonest with much. If you haven’t been faithful with worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? If you haven’t been faithful with someone else’s property, who will give you your own?” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:10-12‬ ‭CEB‬‬

It’s about you. 

“First, help me never to tell a lie. Second, give me neither poverty nor riches! Give me just enough to satisfy my needs. For if I grow rich, I may deny you and say, “Who is the Lord?” And if I am too poor, I may steal and thus insult God’s holy name.”         Proverbs‬ ‭30‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request.” 1 Chronicles‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Better=Solid

“All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.” Acts ‭2‬:‭42‬-‭47‬ ‭NLT‬‬
