The Venerable Sister Mary of Jesus of Ágreda describes how Christ Our Redeemer left the desert and returned to the place where St. John was baptizing and what He was doing until he called the first disciples. And how again, the Blessed Virgin Mary was kept up to date on all that was going on. The Blessed Virgin Mary tells us that seeking solitude, to be alone with God, is to imitate Christ. She said, "...love solitude and seek it with particular affection in order that you may partake of the blessings promised and merited by my divine Son for those who imitate Him therein. As far as possible, when you are not obliged to converse with your neighbor in virtue of obedience always try to be alone; and when you are obliged to come out of your retirement and solitude, carry it with you in the secret of your heart in such a manner that your senses and your occupations shall not deprive you of it."
