Kevin Witt shares with us about his career in baseball and how it has turned into an opportunity to give back and help others with what he has learned along the way.
He was drafted in Round 1 of the 1994 MLB draft at overall pick #28 by the Toronto Blue Jays as a SS. Kevin played professional baseball for 19 years. 5 years at the MLB level with Toronto, San Diego, Detroit, and Tampa Bay. First reaching the majors in 1998 with Toronto. He played 12 years in the minor leagues (8 years in AAA). Kevin played for two years in Japan.
In his MLB career, Kevin played in 146 games, had 399 AB’s, had 93 hits with 15 HR, .233 BA, .376 SLG, and .643 OPS.
In 2006, while playing for the AAA Durham Bulls, Kevin played 128 games hitting .291 with 36 HR’s! A franchise record. He won the International League MVP.
