John Meldrum is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served a mission for his church and married in the temple. There was just one complication, he's gay. Throughout his first marriage, John would secretly engage in sexual activities with men in order to act on what he terms his "same gender attraction." One day, his wife discovered compromising texts and pictures on his computer. John was forced to unceremoniously "come out" to his wife. The cheating and same-gender attraction ultimately led to a divorce. This circumstance led him into a deep depression and a struggle with his faith as he wrestled with defining his sexuality. Hear his story of how he eventually accepted his LGBTQ status, found his faith within the church and eventually remarried...to another woman. How does John navigate his sexuality within a heterosexual marriage? How does he rectify his LGBTQ status within the "Mormon" church? Does he consider himself "gay?" Does he blame his first wife at all for the way he presented within his marriage? What role did pornography play in his story? This episode has it all! Hit the link and don't forget to subscribe!
