The men and women who serve in the military, for whatever country they might belong to, are an exceptional type of people. The very nature of the job means acknowledging there are people you'll likely never know who want you dead. That's pretty extreme, and yet there's an experience that is just as challenging when they finish their term of service.
My guest today is Natalie Shand-Spellman. Coach Nat, as she likes to be called, is a retired United States Marine. She's here to talk about her time in the military, the lack of transition coming out of her service, feeling broken and left without identity, how she found her way through, and what civilians don't seen going on. She now helps veterans find their place in everyday society once the mission is over.
Let's recognize our veterans.
