PTSD Episode 5 - Carlye Hutchinson “Being diagnosed with PTSD doesn’t have to be a death sentence for your career”
Each year millions of people are diagnosed with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and many more will never seek help or be properly diagnosed. As a whole there has been great strides in the understanding of PTSD as well as treatments. That said, there still lies an undercurrent of a lack of acceptability and understanding in society. Creating an environment that is welcoming and safe is paramount and that is exactly what this week’s guest has developed. It simply is not enough to recognize that there is a problem. Once you recognize that there is an issue you must take action if you wish to see positive results. Mrs. Hutchinson saw a need for action and she took it. Mrs. Hutchinson is the founder and President of TFRF (Tennessee First Responders Foundation). Her foundation was created after she counseled some crew members work through some difficult times following the loss of two officers. Mrs. Hutchinson found a deep desire to give back and that is exactly what she is doing. This episode is sure to educate and enlighten you, and will stand as a great resource for anyone that is experiencing PTSD or know someone that is.
