Paul and Jeff are once again joined by special guest Matt Waldman (@MattWaldman) to discuss the 2023 NFL Draft. Matt shares a lot of information about his process and how he scouts the players for the Rookie Scouting Portfolio (RSP).
First they discuss some of the quarterback prospects which included a detailed discussion on why Matt likes Anthony Richardson, followed by a discuss on Jake Haener and Hendon Hooker.
Next they shift to the running back class and Matt shares why he is a big fan of Zach Evans and what he can bring to an NFL team. Matt then shares his thoughts on Deuce Vaughn. To conclude the running back discussion Matt discusses some under the radar running backs that has him intrigued including Tiyon Evans from Louisville, Chris Brooks of BYU andJaleel McLaughlin of Youngstown St.
Next, Matt shares his takes on two of his top 10 wide receiver prospects in Cedric Tillman and Jayden Reed. He then discusses why he still believes in Kayshon Boutee and how he can win at the next level with his skill set. Matt also explains why he is a fan of wide receiver Xavier Hutchinson. To round out the wide receiver discussion Matt shares his thoughts on two under the radar receivers in Grant Dubose out of Charlotte and Keilahn Harris from Oklahoma Baptist.
In the final segment, Matt discusses some of the 2023 tight end prospects. He shares why he is so high on Luke Schoonmaker and why he thinks Elijah Higgins translates better as a tight end prospect than a wide receiver prospect.
To close out the show, the guys discuss the draft class as a whole and why it may be better than people are giving it credit for. They also talk about dynasty rookie drafts and how they would approach this draft. class.
