Let There Be Light: Finding Hope and Purpose in Darkness [Genesis Part 1.2]

“Let there be light.” How many times have you heard someone quote that…or something like it? Dinner is served? “Let there be food!” Vacation started? “Let there be fun!” The idea that God created everything we see by the power of his words is hard to comprehend. But what do you think the opening verses of Scripture say about God? Is he just showing off? Is it science? Is it philosophy? Is it even real? These are pretty important questions that ultimately find their answer in a God who is real and who desires something pretty important: you. Knowing there is a God powerful enough to speak the universe into existence is one thing, but to know that He also wants relationship with you and gives you value and purpose and meaning is another thing altogether.
