Featured in TIR Episode 288 (Part 1 of 2): Super-talented R&B vocalist, composer and producer Sandra St. Victor, best known as part of The Family Stand. From 1989-2010, she recorded several albums with the trio, including the funky hit, “Ghetto Heaven.”
Prior to that she earned her stripes as an in-demand background singer, and during her career has collaborated with stars like Roy Ayers, Chaka Khan, Tawatha Agee, Paula Abdul, Darryl Hall and Curtis Mayfield. She has also released solo albums and formed a singing all-star collective that performs as the Daughters of Soul. Superstars who have recorded her lyrics include Prince and Tina Turner.
