Episode 211 - AWNAM: Godzilla, Mothra, and King Gidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack (2001)
Our latest Animasterpiece begins with Susuke Kaneko's Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack. Originally released in 2001, this film is the 25th entry in the Godzilla franchise overall and the third feature in the character's Millennium era. Godzilla returns for the first time since 1954, now possessed and empowered by restless spirits. This villainous version of Godzilla is ready to destroy Japan unimpeded. Yuri Tachibana is an intrepid young reporter who is researching the "Guardian Monsters", a trio of legendary kaiju who might be able to stop the King of the Monsters. The Guardian Monsters likely needed a bit more time to grow, unfortunately. Admiral Taizo Tachibana, Yuri's father, is determined to make his colleagues (both young and old) come to their senses and stage a proper defense against Godzilla. The stage is set for an explosive final confrontation in Tokyo. Just as Godzilla combines supernatural and manmade power, our heroes will have to employ a similar strategy. We advise you to secure your stones, find a quality bike, and check your photos for spooky ghosts on today's exciting episode of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake!
