The fate of the Seventh Galaxy hangs in the balance on today's episode of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake. Released in 1982, Space Adventure Cobra: The Movie is a hallmark of science fiction anime. The cocky, cigar-chomping adventurer known as Cobra was thought to have died two years ago. Equipped with a brand new face and his powerful Psychogun, Cobra teams up with the beautiful bounty hunter Jane Flowers. Jane wishes to save both her sisters and her home planet from the tyrannical Pirate Guild. The guild is led by the luminous Crystal Bowie, who has a score to settle with Cobra. Bowie already has Jane's sister Catherine under his control, and that might be enough to enact his cataclysmic plan. Cobra must battle the forces of the Pirate Guild while facing the otherworldly destiny that the Royal Sisters have in store for him. We advise our listeners to wear the fuzziest jacket possible for today's exciting installment of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake!
