Samantha (@hellomama.nutrition on instagram) shares her first conventional hospital birth story, with postpartum anxiety that followed and lasted for two years. Doctors weren’t interested in helping her so she took her health into her own hands, healing her anxiety, igniting a new passion for nutrition, health, and helping educate mothers about true nourishment. Then after multiple miscarriages, she looked even deeper into her health again, healing her body on her own, without the help of western medicine. Her next birth was a home birth, but she had complex emotions that surfaced when the birth was so much harder and darker than she expected. Lastly, she speaks on not being a parent on auto-pilot. Years into parenting her first daughter, she realized she was parenting in fear, using intimidation and discipline, and it didn't feel good for herself or her daughter, so she changed her ways.
