Our podcast returns to the arcade to look at two TV specials based on the Fatal Fury fighting game series. Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolves introduces us to brothers Terry and Andy Bogard. After their father is murdered by crime lord Geese Howard, the brothers vow to become great martial artists. Ten years later, the brothers reunite and (along with their new friend Joe Higashi) enter Howard's own "King of Fighters" tournament. While the brother have come a long way, even their new skills may not be enough to stop Geese Howard. Instead, the key to victory may be a dangerous technique that Terry will have to master on the fly. In Fatal Fury 2: The New Battle, Terry suffers a brutal defeat at the hands of Wolfgang Strauser. Descended from an ancient line of warriors, Strauser longs to face an opponent who can truly challenge him. Deeply shaken by his fight with Strauser, Terry will have to do some soul-searching before he can step into the ring again. For this globe-trotting adventure, Terry, Andy, and Joe are joined by a cast of new characters from the second Fatal Fury game. Get your Neo Geo out of storage, find a good pair of gloves, and maybe pour yourself a few glasses of whiskey for today's chi-infused episode of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake!
