In this episode, Rob and Vinnie begin a look at the seven messages (letters) of Rev 2-3. Although many jump to the heavenly vision of Rev 4 and skip the seven messages, these chapters are integral to understanding the book of Revelation.

Notes:
Prophetic messages
Apocalyptic catchphrase “Let the one who has an ear hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches” (2:7, 11, 17, 29; 3:6, 13, 22)
In the very middle of the seven messages we read, “And all the churches will know that I am the One who searches the minds and hearts” (2:23).
Three-Four pattern
the first three messages the exhortation to “the one who has an ear” (2:7, 11, 17) precedes the promise “to the one who overcomes (2:7, 11, 17).
In the last four messages, this is reversed so that the promise to the one who overcomes (26; 3:5, 12, 21) precedes the exhortation to “the one who has an ear” (2:29; 3:6, 13, 22).
The message to Smyrna and the message to Philadelphia refer to those who “say they are Jews” (2:9; 3:9) but are instead a “synagogue of Satan” (2:9; 3:9).
Thyatira is the center and the most important of the messages (2:18-29).
