Coach Jay Bergman, former Gator and UCF Baseball Coach Previews the College Baseball Worlds Series & Brian King Orlando Baseball Academy
College Baseball Coaching Legend Jay Bergman joins Roger Franklin Williams to break down the 2023 College baseball World Series. Coach Bergman was an influential figure Florida Gator Baseball--during his tenure as Head Coach from 1976 to 1982 he elevated the program significantly and laid the foundation for a higher level of future success for Gator Baseball. For example, in the previous history of UF Baseball, from 1912 to 1975, the Gators had made 3 previous NCAA Tournament appearances and won 3 SEC regular season Championships; Coach Bergman's teams made 3 NCAA Tournament appearances and won 2 SEC regular season Championships and 2 SEC Tournament Championships in just 7 seasons. Coach Bergman elevated the UCF program in even more dramatic fashion during his tenure from 1983 to 2008. He took over a middling Division program and led Knights Baseball to Division I status while capturing 8 Atlantic Sun Conference Championships during a period when the Knights were a consistent top-25 Division I program. His 1,183 wins and .632 win percentage are among the best alltime in Division I college baseball history. Coach Bergman shared his opinion that Florida and LSU were the teams most likely to capture the National Title, among other insights. In the final segment, Brian King, founder of Orlando Baseball Academy, provided excellent advice for young ballplayers and their parents, who aspire to play baseball at the college level and beyond.
