Sermon #559
As Christians we want to be welcoming. We want to welcome new people into our midsts so that the Kingdom of God can grow. Yet often we don't think about how we have been welcomed. Jesus said that whoever welcomes one of the least of his disciples welcomes him, and whoever welcomes him welcomes the one who sent him. There is a line of association between us and God the Father through Jesus Christ, which stands to reason, as he, being fully man and fully God, is uniquely qualified to stand in the gap between us and God. He is our sole mediator and the one through whom all come to the Father. So when we welcome God's people, we are welcoming God.
