NORTH PLATTE, NEB – The July 18th North Platte City Council meeting has officially come and gone and there were different discussion points from the meeting. Some of the highlighted topic points featured consent appointments, property changes, annexation near the 2300 block of 18th street, changes to telecommunications, creating an occupation tax on the ownership of skills games, and lastly special presentations from students from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
The council talked about some land on the northwest part of North Platte, that’s a block just adjacent to the North Platte community. During the meeting, there has been talk about possibly selling the land. “There is some interest in possibly selling that lot and maybe have that developed and its generally a practice if the property is adjacent to the community and if they want to be made improvements or developed,” said Council President Jim Nisley. “We have nixed that property and it’s a proper processor to do and it’s a good thing we will get some housing.”
