As Christ-followers and servant leaders, sometimes we get confused and overwhelmed by all of the opportunities to serve that come our way. I recently spoke to an amazing Christian woman who serves in and outside her work place in so many ways. It is amazing that she is still standing upright.
This lovely woman serves professionally in profound ways. She serves her family and her church in huge ways.
But as I listened it sounded as if all of the commitments related to serving are squeezing out time for herself, and she's struggling to create more time and space for quiet time with God, for things that bring her joy and for healthy goals that she has.
Her beautiful service-oriented heart leads her to feel like she has to say yes to everything that would be considered God-honoring work. It's so important to her to be a dedicated follower of Christ.
Christ is an example of servant leadership. But are we actually supposed to say yes to every form of service that comes our way? If not, how do we know when it is ok to say “no” to God-honoring work?
Today we are talking about ways to determine what is truly a God-assignment for you and what is perhaps intended for someone else. God-honoring does not always equate to God-assigned or God-appointed. I am giving you permission to say “no” when you can’t give it your “Best Yes”.
I hope this episode blesses you!
