Featured in TIR Episode 301: Bass and keyboard player, and composer Kayode Adeyemo, a founding member of Starpoint -- one of the top R&B bands of the 1980s. Led by the lead vocals of Renee Diggs and featuring the Phillips’ family of four multi-instrumentalist brothers, Starpoint released 10 albums from 1980-1990. Four of those records reached No. 32 or higher on the R&B charts.
The band notched a dozen Top 40 R&B hits, including the crossover classic, “Object of My Desire,” in 1985. Adeyemo also co-wrote 1988’s pop smash, “Girl, You Know It’s True,” for Milli Vanilli.
