Mick Jenkins talks The Patience, new label deal, and 2Pac on ”Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max”
Big thank you to Chicago's own Mick Jenkins for coming on my show for an interview! Mick Jenkins discussed his new album The Patience, the story/purpose behind his song Guapanese, and not being happy at his former label deal with Cinematic. He talked about not owning 50% of his masters at Cinematic, his new label deal with RBC under BMG, and having an appreciation for 2Pac as Hip-Hop's poet although not being a huge fan, and how important it is to have a foundation behind you when you are in a bad label situation in the industry. Mick Jenkins also mentioned that he believes The Patience will be considered his best album after it releases. Stay tuned!
You can pre-order Mick Jenkins' new album The Patience that will be releasing on August 18th, 2023 on all music platforms now, including Apple Music: https://music.apple.com/us/album/the-patience/1692858211.
