Discover the art of bringing out the best in people. đ Celebrate our 100th episode of the AIBF Business Talk Podcast as the dynamic Margaret Considine, AIBF President, and CEO & Founder of The EQuita Group joins us. đď¸
đĽ With a journey from showing great innovation and entrepreneurship crafting and selling Cindy doll skirts at age 7, to leading a top-notch consultancy, Margaret's 'can-do' spirit shines bright. As an AIBF TRIBE member, she's proud of the strong support for SMEs by the Foundation.
đ¤ Founded in 2001, Margaret named her company The EQuita Group, because she believes in balance, fairness and transparency, taking inspiration from her early life journey.
The EQuita Group is one of Irelandâs leading business consultancy practices in organisation growth and leadership optimisation, commercial negotiation and advance practice mediation.
The consultancy is also a strategic advisor to many organisations including Government bodies. The EQuita Group delivers world class highly popular Leadership and Management Development Programmes.
đĄ Guided by her working-class roots growing up in the Midlands, Margaret learned the power of hard work, accountability and self-reliance from her parents. Margaret and her siblings were taught to make their own decisions, and she credits them for nurturing those skills for life.
đ Margaret champions embracing differences, envisioning a world of work and life where everyone's uniqueness is celebrated â disability, mental health, or capability. It's the antidote to uniformity.
đ˘ The challenge, she believes, is crafting an engaging, productive workplace â a haven that feels like home.
đ With a wealth of experience working with companies across multiple industries, including globally, Margaret highlights three current business challenges:
1ď¸âŁ Scale Challenge: Nurture it deliberately; don't leave it to chance. Inject support and governance to fuel growth. đ
2ď¸âŁÂ People: Perpetually changing, always essential - no organisation survives without their people. Margaret's father's wisdom rings true: A business won't give you a hug.
3ď¸âŁÂ Self-Care: Margaret advises to prioritise your well-being and family and to stay happy. Without this, you will be unable to work on scaling or on people.
đŹ For Margaret, the importance of people is certainly key, and helping them to scale, to self-care and live a well lived life is her mantra.
đ§ Tune in for an inspiring conversation that celebrates the power of people through growth, diversity, and well-lived lives.Â
