Our mind always seeks comfort in life. The mind always complains when there are discomforts in life, especially when it comes to some lack of bodily comforts (say the bed you sleep in is not perfect or you need to stand and travel on a bus, etc.). Lord Krishna, however, says that to make spiritual progress, one must learn to deal with life's discomforts. In other words, you need to rise above the likes and dislikes of your mind and senses. How to develop such a mindset? Swami Mukundananda explains it in detail in Bhagavad Gita Chapter 3, verse 41.
