180,000 doctors... That's not how many are currently practicing, it's how many we'll be short in less time that it takes a child to go from elementary school to high school. It's a shocking number, especially when so many of us already feel like we aren't getting adequate care now.
My guest today is Doctor Ann Hester. Dr. Hester has roughly 30 years of experience both in medical practice, and in empowering patients to get the most out of the very confusing and often one sided system that we have to work through. How can you be a better patient? How can you make sure your primary care physician hears your concerns? How can you skip all the expensive procedures and still root out the problem? All this and more in the next half hour.
Let's not be late to our doctor's appointment today.
Not to be alarmist, because there's no point in panicking now, but the impact of this shortage could become quite a challenge that we'll all have to overcome one day. So, take the time to figure our your role as a patient today. Ann Just gave a very easy path for you to do so, and it could protect not only you, but the next generation as well.
August is essentially over, already? And here are the last rankings:
1. The United States, rounding out this month led by Oregon, California, and New Jersey.
2. Hong Kong, Overtaking the UK and stealing the elusive number 2 spot.
3. The United Kingdom, holding that lead over Canada and just barely led by England.
4. Ontario, Canada.
5. Australia, with New South Wales taking a last minute lead!
That's it for this week! Have a great week and month and I'll see you all back here for the next episode!
