Left of Normal with Scott Sery
Health & Fitness:Mental Health
Social expectations are (largely) unwritten rules created by a society to help keep everything flowing properly and helping everyone get along.
The problem is they assume a specific skill set - a set that the majority of people have.
Most people don't need training for it, they just intuitively know how to navigate following these expectations or norms.
For some, such as those on the autism spectrum, with ADHD, or another neurodivergent way of thinking, those expectations need to be learned. But nobody teaches them, we just have to figure them out on our own.
