It’s time to set spooky season off right because it’s HALLOWEEN HUMPFEST and we’re dropping a variety of horror flicks on your nuts FIVE DAYS A WEEK. Yes, every weekday in October there will be a horror film discussion with weekly sub themes and for our Monday vintage selections we’re delving into some HAMMER HORROR vampiric fare! Today we’re discussing Christopher Lee’s debut as a rather seductive DRACULA in 1958’s “Horror of Dracula” directed by Terence Fisher (Or just “Dracula” in England) starring Lee, Peter Cushing as Van Helsing as well as Michael Gough & Melissa Stribling among others. Hammer’s take on the character that was made iconic in the Universal Film starring Bela Lugosi is much bloodier and more sultry than the stateside version. An all-time Dracula portrayal that put Lee and Cushing on the map. A fine way to start off the spooky season!
