In the latest updates from Young and the Restless, head writer Josh Griffith's plot developments throughout 2023 have caused quite a stir among fans. 

Some of the controversial story arcs include the prolonged separation of Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), the swift demise of villains Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby) and Jeremy Stark (James Hyde), and the under utilization of Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy). 

The pairing of Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd), despite the considerable age gap, and the return of Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) without her usual wicked streak, have also been points of contention on the CBS soap.

Fans have also called for a revival of the relationship between Sally and Adam, and the rekindling of romance between Sharon and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) on Y&R.

Despite these criticisms, Young and Restless continues to draw in viewers, with fans eagerly awaiting the show's upcoming plot twists.
