As we approach the start of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra’s 98th season, we present to you a conversation about... Richard Wagner. It was recorded in July during active preparations for the concert performance of Siegfried, which, by the way, has been highly praised. What is more, the orchestra’s season opening concert on 6 and 7 October will feature the first act of the opera Die Walküre. In this talk, pianist, composer, and LNSO podcast host Edgars Cīrulis meets with the orchestra's Music and Artistic director Tarmo Peltokoski, who is perhaps one of the most notable Wagner enthusiasts we know, and Georg Sarkisjan, violinist and longstanding concertmaster of the LNSO, who performs with various orchestras in Germany and has experience in interpreting Wagner's works.
