Bold and the Beautiful sees viewers grapple with the mystery of Eric Forrester's (John McCook) health issues.

As the storyline unfolds on B&B, Forrester's new symptom - a troubling coughing fit that ends with him spitting blood - has fans wondering if he might be battling cancer. 

Other possibilities suggested include mercury poisoning, tuberculosis meningitis, or even small cell lung cancer - the disease that claimed the life of Eric's first wife, Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery). 

The symptoms also align with those of Paraneoplastic Syndrome, a condition caused by cancer cells affecting other tissues and organs. 

Meanwhile, Donna Logan is kept in the dark about Eric's health on the CBS soap opera. Could the blame be placed on Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer), who's not likely to return? Or perhaps Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), Eric's bitter ex-wife?
