In this sermon, Siviwe Minyi illuminated the profound truths nestled within Romans 8:1-4, gently reminding us that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. He spoke of the liberating work of the Holy Spirit, emphasizing that it is He who convinces us that nothing, absolutely nothing, can separate us from the love of God (Rom 8:38-39). Siviwe tenderly addressed our struggles with sin, pointing to Paul’s own wrestle and the merry-go-round of guilt and forgiveness many of us find ourselves on. Yet, he reassured us with the words of 1 John 1:8-9, that if we confess our sins, God is faithful to forgive. He shared the compassionate response of Jesus to the woman caught in adultery in John 8:10-11, not condemning but urging her to sin no more, illustrating that Jesus came not to condemn us, but to save us. Siviwe concluded with an impassioned plea, encouraging us to declare war against unbelief, to lean into the promises of Philippians 1:6 and Hebrews 7:25, and to immerse ourselves in the Word, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth. Let us respond, embracing the freedom found in Christ, and live unshackled by condemnation, fully assured of God’s unbreakable love.
