WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR OCTOBER 8, 2023
- Not many surprises occurred during the weekend
- Rain fell beneficially in northern Ukraine and rain is still expected additionally there and in Russia’s Southern Region over the next ten days
- Western Australia will continue too dry
- Argentina will get a few showers, but no general soaking rain
- Heavy rain fell in southern Brazil during the weekend and a wetter bias will continue without such intensity in the rainfall
- U.S. harvest weather is good except for Wednesday through Friday of this week when rain is expected
- Rain and snow have evolved in eastern Ontario and Quebec as predicted
- Tropical Storm Lidia will become a hurricane tonight and the move through central Mexico during mid-week with some of its rain reaching southern Texas and the U.S. Gulf of Mexico coast region later this week
- Eastern U.S. will be mild to cool in the next ten days while the west and in most of Canada’s Prairies are warmer than usual
- Southern Indonesia will continue too dry
- Myanmar will get some welcome rain in the coming ten days
- Northern India may get some needed rain later this month
- A new tropical disturbance off the west Africa coast may become a tropical cyclone this week, but it will stay over open water
