The Bold and the Beautiful shows us a striking parallel is drawn between Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) and her father, Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan). 

The two have found themselves in similar predicaments, both involved with partners that others deem unsuitable. Hope has been seeing Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson), an association that only Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) supports, while Deacon is engaged to Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), a woman his family and friends disapprove of on the CBS soap opera. 

Deacon believes has changed, a sentiment echoed by Hope about Thomas Forrester. Both father and daughter have been keeping their relationships a secret on B&B, further mirroring their personal lives.
