Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience is broadcast from Malta's Radio 105FM on Tuesday evenings from 2100 - 0059 hours CET. The show is also broadcast on SWITCH Radio Essex in the United Kingdom live on Wednesday evenings from 1900 - 2300 hours CET as well as on the Facebook Page of Eurovision Radio International with an interactive chatroom.
AT A GLANCE - ON THE SHOW THIS WEEK
The Summer 2023 is behind us and Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience is looking forward to the National Final Season of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 that is starting real soon. Sweden had its 7th victory with Loreen winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom with the song "Tattoo" equalling with Ireland plus becoming the second winner to the win Eurovision twice after Johnny Logan.
Sweden will be hosting the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 which will be the 68th contest in its history coming once again from the Malmoe Arena, Malmoe, Sweden on 07 & 09 May 2024 for the two Semi Finals and the Grand Final scheduled for Saturday 11 May 2024. In view of Sweden once again being the host of Eurovision after 2016 the Team of Radio International will look at the history of Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest that over the years really added amazing songs to the fans' music collections.
Also this week we have interview clips with from the Melodifestivalen Weekend 2023 (MelFstWknd) Senhit who represented San Marino in 2011 with the song "Stand by" and then again in 2021 with the song "Adrenalina" and from the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, TuralTuranX (Azerbaijan 2023).
The Mentors at Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2023
Further from the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2023: The Mentors. The Mentors (Paul Giordimaina, Ludwig Galea, Mike Spiteri, Moira Stafrace) are former Eurovision entrants from Malta who have been advising the Malta Eurovision contestants how to go through the national competition. The Busker won and represented Malta at Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool. Paul Giordimaina together with Georgina represented Malta at Eurovision in 1991 with the song "Could it be" coming 6th. Mike Spiteri represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 1995 with the song "Keep me in mind" coming 10th. Then Ludwig Galea together with Julie performed "On again ... Off again" at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 coming 12th and finally Moira Stafrace with her husband Chris represented Malta at Eurovision 1994 coming 5th with the song "More than love". Chris sadly passed away in Feb 2022. JP had the big pleasure to meet the Mentors just before the show for an interview as well as a separate interview with Moira as she represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 1995 together with Chris.
Also JP will be joined by David Mann for the Eurovision Birthday File and Eurovision Coverspot. The Eurovision Spotlight is presented by Ross Bennett. It is the new series of the Eurovision Spotlight as after the Summer Feature - The Double 3s and as a Radio International Tradition in the last quarter of the year the Team of Radio International takes a look back the upcoming host nation's Eurovision history. With Loreen winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with the song "Tattoo" for Sweden, Sweden will be hosting Eurovision 2024 and the National Final Season has already begun.
