Continuing our series in Genesis, Jamie began to look at the story of 'the Fall' in Genesis 3 - Adam, Eve, the Snake, the 'apple' etc - as ever, seeking to dig deeper into these famous stories and perhaps challenge some assumptions.
Many people have seen this account as 'foundational' in some way: but how? Is it a retelling of a historical event, or a parable about the nature of being? How does this story relate to the rest of Scripture and to our reality today? Is the concept of a fallen Creation negative and condemnatory, or insightful and helpful? And finally how might a doctrine of ‘Original Sin’ lead us towards compassionate living, and liberating Good News?
