The European Commission is recommending EU governments open accession negotiations with both Ukraine and Moldova. It’s also proposing Georgia be granted candidate status on the basis it undergoes necessary reforms.
Accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina are also recommended once it complies with EU membership criteria. The President of the Commission Ursula von der Leyen, made the announcements this morning following the adoption of the 2023 EU Enlargement package.
