Japan takes a progressive step forward as the Supreme Court declares a previous law regarding the sterilization of transgender people unconstitutional. This ruling has sparked conversations about Japan’s attitudes towards the LGBTQ+ community on a whole and the legislation surrounding them. As an influential country in the region, many wonder what this change in attitude could mean for other laws within states of the area.
