This could be the answer to so many prayers. Researchers at the UC Davis comprehensive Cancer Center say they’ve located a “kill switch” that can touch off the death of cancer cells.
It’s a protein on the CD95 receptor that can “program” cancer cells to die. The study is in the journal Cell Death & Differentiation.
In Maui, quite a sight at Kealia Pond. The water in the pond is magenta or hot pink in color. That’s not the norm. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service says the color change is caused by a type of halobacteria found in waters with high salinity. Kealia’s levels are twice the salinity of seawater.
