23. An UNTOLD Story from Ramayana – Most Blissful Path to Experience God | Art and Science of Happiness by Swami Mukundananda

 

In this episode, Swamiji draws from the Ramayana to explain the different ways of realizing God. He clarifies that seekers may approach Him as the impersonal Brahman — infinite existence and consciousness, or as the personal form of God, where love and surrender create a living relationship. While Brahman offers vastness and peace, it lacks the sweetness of intimacy. The personal form allows devotees to experience God’s qualities, His compassion, and His loving presence. 

Swamiji highlights King Janak’s insight: although knowledge and austerity can lead one to Brahman, they cannot provide the bliss of loving exchange. Janak recognized that devotion to the personal form of God is the most blissful path, because it melts the heart and draws God’s grace. In devotion, the soul not only perceives God’s greatness but also tastes His closeness, which brings supreme happiness. 

This teaching connects directly to the soul’s eternal nature of Sat‑Chit‑Anand — eternal existence (Sat), pure consciousness (Chit), and divine bliss (Anand). By choosing devotion to the personal form of God, seekers experience happiness that is selfless, pure, and ever‑expanding, far beyond fleeting worldly pleasures. The Ramayana thus reveals that the highest fulfillment lies in devotion, where the soul finds both intimacy and eternity in God.
