We share the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ:

GOD in his infinite mercy, forgives all sins, and through our baptism in the name of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, we are given a rebirth into new life, free from the burden of all sin. ALLELUIA

to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Bless the Lord all created things:

3 The Opening Prayer

The night has passed and the day lies open before us; 

let us pray with one heart and mind. 

  

 

Silence may be kept.

As we rejoice in the gift of this new day, 
so may the light of your presence, O God, 
set our hearts on fire with love for you; 
now and for ever. 

Amen.

2nd Reading is from the Gospel according to Mark 3. 19b–35, Glory to you Lord Jesus Christ.

7 The Canticle, A Song of Redemption

Christ is the image of the invisible God: 
the first-born of all creation. 
For in him all things were created: 
in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible. 
All things were created through him and for him: 
he is before all things 
and in him all things hold together. 
He is the head of the body, the Church: 
he is the beginning, the first-born from the dead. 
For it pleased God that in him 
all fullness should dwell: 
and through him all things be reconciled to himself.

8 The Apostles’ Creed may be said.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, 
creator of heaven and earth. 
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, 
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, 
born of the virgin Mary, 
suffered under Pontius Pilate, 
was crucified, died, and was buried; 
he descended to the dead. 
On the third day he rose from the dead; 
he ascended into heaven, 
and is seated at the right hand of the Father; 
from there he will come to judge 
the living and the dead. 
I believe in the Holy Spirit, 
the holy catholic Church, 
the communion of saints, 
the forgiveness of sins,

10 The Lord’s Prayer and the Collect of the Day

Our Father in heaven, 
hallowed be your name, 
your kingdom come, 
your will be done, 
on earth as in heaven. 
Give us today our daily bread. 
Forgive us our sins 
as we forgive those who sin against us. 
Save us from the time of trial 
and deliver us from evil. 
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours 

now and for ever. Amen.

Heavenly Father,
loving shepherd of your people,
we thank you for your servant Francis Perry, founder of the Royal women’s hospital in Melbourne,
who was faithful in the care and nurture of your flock;  

and we pray that we may follow the good of her example 

and grow into the fullness of the stature
of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ;
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen. 

 

Prayer of the Week

Almighty God, whose sovereign purpose none can make void:

give us faith to be steadfast amid the tumults of this world,

knowing that your kingdom shall come and your will be done,

to your eternal glory;

through Jesus Christ our Lord,

who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,

one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Great shepherd of your people,

Bless those called to priesthood in your church.

Fire their hearts with passion for your word and care for your people,

That they may joyfully minister your sacraments.

Guide them in their study and prayer, that they may be discerning and loving pastors enabling all, to minister to the glory of your name and the benefit of your people and world.

O Lord our God, we ask for your mercy on the Ukrainian people. We ask for your intervention, to impart peace as an initiative in the minds of all those at war across the world. We ask through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Lord and heavenly Father, 
you have brought us safely to this new day: 
keep us by your mighty power, protect us from sin, 
guard us from every kind of danger, 
and in all we do this day 
direct us in the fulfilling of your purpose, 
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
