He has served as the president of the Evangelical Theological Society (1999), as a member of the Translation Oversight Committee for the English Standard Version of the Bible, and as the General Editor for the ESV Study Bible (2008). He discusses one of the books he has written, "Politics According to the Bible," which outlines what scriptures has to say about the important political issues of our day.
