Back to honesty.
If you can’t be honest with yourself and take cues from yourself, and deal with feedback from yourself… you won’t be able to take feedback or criticism from anyone.
What else does the person who is honest do?
They ask themselves continually “what would the best version of me do? What would the best version of me say? How would the best version of me respond?
Finally ask yourself honestly “am I falling back into bad habits?”
How do you become honest with yourself?
Get in touch with your emotions and your outcome.
How do you feel about your life?
How do you feel about your actions?
How do you feel about your potential?
And then ask yourself how do you grade the outcomes of your choices, systems and habits?
This year I had a come to Jesus moment. I realized I was spending much more time in front of the TV than what I had realized. First I asked why? Well my son and daughter in law moved into my basement. My office is way in back of my office. So I have quit going down there at night to give them privacy… So I would try to work at my kitchen table… but I would end up working at my computer in front of the tv. NOT GOOD.
So how did I take that honesty and plug it in. Well I chose to get up even earlier… like 4:30. And put in more office time then. I can’t be int their way and at night I am so tired by 8/9 o’clock I don’t want to watch TV. Will it work to my advantage? Not sure, but I will HONESTLY check my lifestyle and outcomes to see if its the best option.
