Today is Friday January 5th, on today's show:
**Word of the year - what is my word? "Brave "Unfuckwitable!"
A few years ago, when I began blogging, people started asking me about my word for the year. The idea behind it was genius.
Rather than a long list of resolutions, that I'd probably give up on rather quickly, picking a word that captures the mind-set you want to adopt in 2024.
Picking one, two or three word to guide us through the year. A word that reflects your values, intentions and vision for the coming year. What would describe your hopes and dreams for 2024?
Picking a personal word of the year:
- Make your word super visible will act as a constant positive reminder for you to align yourself to that energy.
Heard an analogy - about a lighthouse would not be of much help to boats if it did not throw out that powerful beam of light to make itself know.
- You can make a digital vision board
- Create a phone/laptop wallpaper with your word
- Have affirmations with your word in them.
- Set some actionable goals
You need to do more than just pick a word, you need to use it:
Example:
"Do something every day that brings you _Joy____.
Or do something every day that makes you feel Unfuckwitable.
Or If your word is simply a feeling/attitude you want more in your life, that is ok also.
- check in with your word
There are many ways to do this. You could have it be part of your journaling and check in at the end of your day. You could ask your self if you truly lived by your word today.
Or you could do it weekly/monthly.
Remember - you do not have to only choose one word. Choose as many as you want, or choose a quote if that is what makes more sense to you. What ever word or quote you choose, the important thing is that it needs to act as a guide for you through the next year. Pick a song!

Someone who deserves it

Be the type of kindness that is strength
Remember that love is a verb

Fall six times, get up again seven, persevere.
Wish people a lovely day
Live honestly, truly, and with integrity.
Let's dig into "Courage"
Having courage means having the mental, moral strength to face danger, fear or difficulty. Courage is the choice and willingness to confront that pain and uncertainty head on. It is not, not having any fear but the ability to be able to work through it.
People with courage possess some of the same characteristics.
- Self- confidence: They believe in themselves. They know who they are and what they stand for, meaning they have strong values.
- Conviction: They will not follow the crowd, or waffle in the face of difficult situation. They will stand alone if it goes against their values.
- Integrity: They do not just talk about honor they live it. Again they do not care about popularity, being with the in crowd. They stand up for what is right.
- Compassion: They put others needs ahead of their own. Which is not always good. Balance
- AND They embrace change by stepping outside their comfort zones.
Of course, you have faced obstacles, been slammed by adversity, and you may doubt yourself and want to give up along the way.
Continue to believe in yourself, stand up for what you hold dear and be kind along the way.
I want to end with this last quote:
"All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them." - Walt Disney
This is the beginning of anything you want. Go for it.
Remember, You got this, I believe in you!
I need a drink, cheers! Alright now let's talk about picking a word of the year or a nudge word.
