Still Spinning on 01.08.24

Welcome to episode 36 of the Still Spinning Podcast! Nicole and Dan were bracing for the first real winter storm of the year but for some reason, the Dan Deibert Weather Center was not at high alert. Very interesting start to our longest episode yet.

 

If you are about to travel on a plane, a 737 to be exact, there may be some reason for concern. Actually, you should be fine as they have all been grounded for inspection after a DOOR BLEW OFF shortly after takeoff. We discuss this as well as aviation safety in general and Dan is incredibly impressed by at least one aspect of this story. Which one? Tune in to see.

 

Oh the Golden Globes were Sunday night and boy, they are NOT being well reviewed. Dan knows the host! We talk about hosting a show like this and make some of our own observations and jokes about the whole thing.

 

Nicole saw a Facebook post about a "Sh*tty Tipper" board in a bar and she is all for it! This leads to a discussion on public shaming and tipping. Nicole thinks there is not scenario in which you tip NOTHING, Dan has some questions about that.

 

Julia Roberts has a new Netflix movie out about a new type of disaster. What happens if we lose the internet and all computers? How screwed would we be?? Would some be worse off? No idea if the movie itself is any good but the premise is terrifying.

 

There is a new way to judge a man's "member" and it ties to a story about an aquarium at a Bass Pro Shop. This one had us laughing pretty hard.
