North Country guide, Matt Breuer joins the show to share about his life growing up in Minnesota’s sharp-tailed grouse country and how witnessing their population crash inspired him to volunteer his time with Minnesota’s Sharp-Tailed Grouse Society.  We discuss the organization's conservation mission today, how and where to watch the spring mating ritual of dancing sharp-tailed grouse on leks, the busy life of a hunting and fishing guide, and the outlook for Minnesota’s grouse species in a sleeper region of bird country.  Plus, we throw in spring turkey hunting talk and foraging for wild mushrooms.
