2017 just continues to move forward with worthwhile fights, though not without some speed bumps here and there. They're simply a part of boxing though, and they're negated by the good action the sport has seen already this year. This weekend on Showtime, for instance, Kell Brook and Errol Spence tangle in an excellent welterweight matchup.
And this past weekend on HBO, Terence Crawford seemed to confirm his place at the top echelon of the sport with a dominant performance over Felix Diaz. Also noteworthy: Jose Uzcategui on the receiving end of a nasty sucker punch after being DQ'd against Andre Dirrell, Ray Beltran's "Knockout of the Year" level KO of Jonathan Maicelo, Gervonta Davis' easy defeat of Liam Walsh, Shannon Brigg's positive drug test, and David Benavidez's win over Porky Medina.
If we're feeling depraved enough, perhaps we'll talk some Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor.
