1) In Acts chapter 22:3, Paul shares his testimony. He speaks of his upbringing, his high level of education, and his zealous adherence to the laws and customs of his people, all in an effort to honor God. He confesses, “I used to do what you are doing to me right now - persecuting the followers of the Way.” Paul was ruthless, imprisoning believers in chains.
2) However, on his journey to Damascus, something transformative happened to Paul. He began sharing his testimony, recounting the unexpected change of plans. He humorously notes that people often believe they are masters of their destiny until an unforeseen event, akin to a piano falling on their head, occurs. The first thing Paul experienced was a bright light that shone all around him. It’s important to remember that the gospel brings us out of darkness and into His marvelous light.
