A) We conclude this section with Paul’s words, “Hold fast to the pattern of sound words.” This is a polite way of saying, speak your faith and ensure what you’re speaking is solid. If we don’t speak our faith and instead speak our doubts, it affects not just those around us but us personally. Speak truth. Speak faith. Speak love. Speak grace.
B) 2 Timothy 1:14 states that we are supposed to guard the good deposit that was entrusted to us by the Holy Spirit who lives in us. This verse helps to clarify some of the distinctions between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God the Father is on the throne. God the Son is at the right hand of the Father, interceding for the saints. And God the Holy Spirit dwells in us as believers. Jesus lives in our hearts by faith. The Holy Spirit lives in our lives in reality. Without faith, we cannot please him.
