Apple has been fined €1.84 billion by the EU for restricting music streaming. The European Commission believes Apple has abused its dominant position. Consumers were forced to pay more than they should have for music streaming apps, the EU has concluded. The fine amounts to 0.5 per cent of Apple’s worldwide turnover. European Competition Commissioner, Margrethe Vestager, says Apple’s actions were illegal and European consumers lost out as a result.
