March 10, 2024 - Sunday PM Sermon
Jesus’ parting words to his disciples was for them to go into the world and make disciples of the nations (Matt. 28:19). This mission is accomplished as we take the gospel into our community, but also as we support and help others who are seeking to do the same where they live. Paul told Timothy to pass the faith he received along to others so they could teach others and the gospel could spread (2 Tim. 2:2). Our elders are interested in supporting the spread of the gospel in several different places and through various avenues. One of the ways we do this is supporting those who are preparing to do ministry elsewhere. We are blessed to have Andres Coto Umana with us for this week (March 10-16). He will be working alongside Hiram and Neal for the week as he receives on the job training in the work of local preaching. He will preach the sermon this evening, give the devotional and teach the college class this Wednesday night along with other things he’ll be involved in.
God’s Care For His Servants - (Daniel 1)
Andres Coto Umana provides a sermon on God's care for his servants. Andres shows how God took care of Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah when they were taken by Nebuchadnezzar. God will take care of you just as He did for them.
Here’s some biographical information about Andrés:
Andrés is 30 years old and has been married to Yeimy since 2016. They met in high school at age 16 and started dating when she began to share the gospel with him. In 2012, Andrés obeyed the gospel and decided to give his life in the service of the Lord.
Previously, Andrés worked as a vehicle technical inspector, but in 2018, he began full-time training at a local Costa Rican school for preachers and, together with other sound brothers, planted a new congregation in San José, where he preaches to this day. Andrés has also worked with an evangelism mission team in Panama and continually serves as an interpreter in various evangelism campaigns in his country. Andrés loves to share the gospel.
In 2022, he began studying full-time at the Georgia School of Theology (GST), which has significantly increased his love for the Bible and sound doctrine. He hopes to help bring a great depth of knowledge to the brethren in Costa Rica that might all draw closer to God and each other in His kingdom.
